Biography

Throughout a career focused predominantly in brand identity, communications and experience strategy, he has consistently expanded the boundaries of what clients and teams thought they could accomplish. And always for the greater good.

Although his introduction to the marketing communications industry was a bit unorthodox, Kamau’s insight, keen listening ability, and analytic DNA led to solid strategic solutions for organizations early on—solutions that exceeded expectations and broadened points of view. He has since honed those skills through experience as an innovative problem solver, a staunch advocate for breakthrough collaboration and the power of design thinking.

He is also dedicated to the erradication of torpiditis in all industries that matter in shaping the world for his son's future.

Q: What is 'You Lazy Bastards!' all about?

I'm a marketer through and through. I love this crap. That is why the heightening state of laziness in the industry irks me. So much so that I gave it a name... Torpiditis.

I grew up in the music industry, hit puberty at a PR agency, fell in love at an Ad agency and now focus globally on experience design.

Brand experience is certainly one of those areas where laziness will absolutely show if you're caught sleeping in the stall, and there aren't many chances to repair the damage of a bad customer experience.
